Luggage containing liquids

EU regulations limit the amount of liquid, creams, jellies or sprays allowed as hand luggage when passing the security check. It is therefore important to pack correctly.

Avoid liquids or pack them well if including in hold luggage. Liquids required during the flight should be packed in jars/bottles which contain a maximum of 1 decilitre (1 dl). You are allowed to carry as many jars/bottles that can be contained in a transparent 1 litres plastic bag. Plastic bags are available at the security check.

In addition, you may carry medicine, children’s food and drink which is part of a special diet and needed during the flight. Shopping after the security check is not affected. You can shop as usual and take the goods purchased on board the aircraft.

In certain cases, liquids purchased in shops situated after the security check can be carried in your hand luggage, even if a stop is planned en route and a change of aircraft. Ensure therefore that the shop seals the bag so that it can be confirmed that no further items have been added after the purchase. You should also be able to produce a receipt for the goods purchased showing that the purchase has taken place during the last 24 hours. Contact your transit-airport for actual information and what is required in your situation.
