Children, infants and unaccompanied minors

Children up to 2 years of age are considered to be infants.

One infant per adult is allowed to travel without a seat. Infants without a seat have a luggage allowance of 10 kg for checked luggage. Adults travelling with two infants under 2 years of age must book a seat for one of the infants. The second infant is entitled to the same luggage allowance as an adult. This infant must be seated in a car safety-seat which cannot exceed 42 cm wide and 65 cm deep. The car safety-seat must be EU-approved. Apart from the above situation, car safety-seats are not allowed in the cabin and must be checked in. Due to medical reasons, infants below 10 days of age are not allowed on-board.

Accompanying children: 2-11 years of age. NextJet considers persons above the age of 16 to be adults in cases which affect these “Regulations and Conditions of travel”.

UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN

Children up to 5 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

From, and including, a child’s 6th birthday until it is 12 years old, he/she is allowed to travel without a parent or guardian in accordance with regulations regarding unaccompanied minors. NextJet has a limit to how many unaccompanied children we can accommodate per flight. Contact NextJet’s Call Centre tel. +46 (0) 771 90 00 90 for detailed information.

A child 13 years of age or older is allowed to travel without company. However, the child cannot act as company for younger children until he/she has reached the age of 16. A passenger older than 16 years old may act as adult company for a child up to 13 years of age. The adult company must show valid identification documents.

Passengers between 13 and 15 years of age may be taken on board as unaccompanied children if the parent/guardian so wishes. However, the same documentation must be completed as for unaccompanied minors.

The child must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian until NextJet’s representative has completed the required document. This is done at check-in. This document serves as a written assurance and the child’s parent/guardian must sign it for legal reasons. Without a valid document, NextJet may under no circumstances allow the child to board the aircraft. Upon arrival, the receiving parent/guardian must show valid identification document. The receiving parent/guardian must be at least 18 years of age.

When a child is traveling on a domestic flight we strongly recommend that arrival at the in-checking counter is not later than 30 minutes before the departure time. For international flights we recommend arriving at least 1 hour before departure. The parent/guardian must remain at the airport until the plane has departed.
