Luggage

Every passenger may check up to 20 kg of luggage in the aircraft hold free of charge. Certain articles are not considered as luggage; see below for a more detailed description. One piece of luggage weighing maximum 5 kg may be taken on-board as hand luggage with a maximum size of45x35x20 cm . NextJet recommends that portable computers, cameras and other valuables are carried as hand luggage, and should not be checked in.In addition, passengers are allowed to bring on-board one handbag, an umbrella or a bag containing e.g. tax free merchandise.

Infants under 2 years of age without their own seat have no luggage allowance.

Luggage exceeding standard allowance will be subject to a charge of 30 SEK per kg and single journey.


SPECIAL LUGGAGE

Articles such as golf bags, bicycles, surfing boards, hang gliders and skis are not included in the standard allowance. Transportation of such articles allows for an extra charge per article and single journey. These articles must be packed separately containing only one article per package. Concerning NextJet’s economic responsibility, these articles are considered as luggage in the event of damage or loss.

Charges (per leg):

  • Water skis 150 SEK

  • Windsurfing board 400 SEK
  • Wakeboard 275 SEK
  • Longboard 150 SEK

Maximum weight for golf bags is 15 kg. If the maximum weight allowance of the golf bag is exceeded, a cost of 30 SEK/kg will be charged. Prams must checked in; they are free of charge and are not included in the standard allowance.

Ski equipment/Snowboard must be packed separately and only one ski equipment is allowed per ski bag. One ski equipment consists of 1 pair of skis, 1 pair of poles and 1 pair of ski boots alternatively 1 snowboard and 1 pair of snowboard boots. Ski equipment must be pre-booked at NextJet's Call Centre and will not be accepted for stand-by. Cancellation policy: NextJet will charge 175 SEK/leg for each ski equipment if cancellation takes place less than 72 hours prior to departure.

Bicycles must be checked in, well packed in plastic or corrugated cardboard with the handlebars turned inwards (to facilitate loading). The pedals must be removed and the tires emptied of air. All special luggage is transported entirely at the passenger’s own risk.

For safety reasons, the following articles are not permitted as luggage on board NextJet’s flights.

  • Compressed gases (highly frozen, inflammable, poisonous) e.g. butane gas, oxygen, fluid nitrogen gas, oxygen tubes and tubes with compressed gas
  • Corrosive substances such as acids, alkalis, wet-element batteries and apparatus which contains mercury (e.g. thermometers)
  • Explosive materials, war materials, fireworks, flares and detonators
  • Easily inflammable liquids and solid substances such as lighter fluids and matches (must be carried in the passenger’s own pockets, not in hand luggage), paint, thinner and firelighter
  • Radioactive material
  • Briefcases and attaché cases with installed alarm systems
  • Oxidizing substances, such as bleaching agents, peroxides
  • Poisonous and disease carrying substances such as insecticides, weed-killers and living virus cultivations
  • Other dangerous articles such as e.g. magnetized goods and objectionable or irritating substances


FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION

Firearms and ammunition are covered by special regulations. The firearm must be unloaded and separated into two pieces, with the bolt packed separated from the weapon. Ammunition should be suitably packed in its original case with a maximum weight of 2 kg. Always inform airport ground staff if traveling with firearms or ammunition.

NB: Toy weapons and weapon imitations irrespective of material, catapults, cutlery, razor-blades (both open blades and razors), tools which could be used as weapons, darts, scissors, syringes (if they are not to be used for real medical reasons), knitting needles, large bats and sports clubs, billiard cues and other pointed objects and weapons are not allowed in the aircraft cabin.


LUGGAGE RESPONSIBILITY

NextJet’s responsibility is limited as far as damage, delay and loss of luggage is concerned, unless an extra charge has been paid at check-in to cover a higher declared value. In such cases, a document to prove the value of the item should be presented upon check-in. A piece of luggage is declared lost if not traced after 21 days of passenger arriving to his/hers final destination. Compensation up to a maximum of 1000 SDR’s, special drawing rights, will be paid for lost luggage. The decision of the final sum is decided after a declaration of the luggage contents has been presented to NextJet's Customer Relations via e-mail to customerrelations@nextjet.se. NextJet will compensate up to a maximum weight of 20 kg, unless an excess luggage receipt can be presented or upon showing a document declaring higher valued items.

Damaged luggage must be presented and reported to the arrival airport within 7 days after arrival. NextJet takes no responsibility for missing/damaged medicine, computers, bottles, keys, valuable papers, valuable tools and other valuables checked in as luggage. Luggage should only contain clothes, toilet requisites and other harmless articles needed for the passenger’s journey.
