Hagfors

For hundreds of years the Hagfors region has been characterized by forestry and the iron industry. Here, far from the pulse of the big city, culture is nurtured. Here, one allows nature to open and cleanse the mind.

The wilderness is on the very doorstep. Even if most people haven’t seen bears, wolves or lynx, they are still there. In Hagfors there are arrays of pleasant adventures to experience for the whole family or perhaps a survival week for those who prefer tougher challenges. For many years Klarälven has been called the `Pilgrims’ Way´. This is the road that the pilgrims of the Middle Ages travelled on their journey to Nidaros (Trondheim) to visit Holy Olof’s grave. Memories from that time remain e.g. in Ek’s district where the beautiful wrought-iron cross, the so called Tree of Life, is to be found.

Uddeholm’s golf club, with its 18 challenging holes and beautiful greens, is situated at Rådsjö, nearby the airport. Why not play a round of golf? The green fee is economical. Take a trip to Hagfors – it is always easy to enjoy oneself here.
